Todd Taylor is originally from Calgary and has a lengthy history in the food and beverage industry.  Since his initial training through the Country Club of the Hamptons, Todd gained further experience and leadership with Sheraton Eau Claire and a number of years in the Cayman Islands with The Westin Casurina Resort.  He has also completed specialized training courses at The Breakers Hotel & Golf Resort in West Palm Beach, Florida, and Badrutt's Palace Hotel in St. Moritz, Switzerland.  

 

Todd came back to Calgary after four years as Manager /Sommelier with Oliver Bonocini's Auberge de Pommier in Toronto. He completed his International Sommelier Guild Diploma in 2003 and was the sommelier manager with Redwater Rustic Grille for three years before moving to Vintage Chophouse & Tavern. 

 

"My main goal with the guest is to help them pick a wine that will complement the occasion and their tastes." says Todd. "The occasion includes everything from the atmosphere, to something they may be celebrating, to the food they have ordered.  I get just as excited by matching them with a $40 bottle of wine as a $1300 bottle of wine.  In the end if the guest enjoys their entire experience that is what matters most."
